Youth Council
The Youth Council is comprised of youth and young adults in Stark County. The purpose of the council is to engage and inspire these youths to become leaders, philanthropists and full participants in our community. Students will be introduced to the importance of philanthropy and giving back to the community as well as developing and increasing their leadership skills.
The learning objectives of the Youth Council are:
- Develop and nurture skills of diverse group of potential community leaders
- Increase understanding of their community and community issues
- Create a strong and diverse base of future community leaders for Stark County
- Instill the value of philanthropy and giving back tot he community
- Increase awareness of thep ositive results of engaging youth as leaders and decision makers
- Improve the community through youth-led service projects
- Encourage youth to develop a sense of ownership in the community
Students would meet twice a month beginning in October with a retreat and ending in June with the Day of Action volunteer project.
