National Volunteer Week to be celebrated Apr. 28 – May 4

Gold Key, Community Volunteer Service Award winners to be honored Apr. 25

(Canton, OH) Apr. 18, 2008 – United Way of Greater Stark County announced today its prestigious Gold Key Service Award winners and recipients of new awards aimed at honoring community volunteer service in honor of national Volunteer Week, Apr. 28 through May 4. Gold Key Service Award Winners included Vera M. Burton of The Timken Company and Ken Douglas of Ernst & Young LLP. The Individual Community Volunteer Service Award went to Sister Edwardine Baznik, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Stark County; Group Service Award to Junior League of Canton, Inc.; Corporate Service Award for a small business to Power Systems Development and Corporate Service Award for a large business to GE Money.

United Way announces campaign total

United Way of Greater Stark County announced its final campaign results at the Courtyard by Marriott during its annual Campaign Awards Banquet today.
