Impact Councils

More than 100 hundred community volunteers comprise the Impact Councils of United Way of Greater Stark County.

What are Impact Councils? These are the groups that examine data and facts about greater Stark County, and from that data, allocate funds to programs and services that work to solve our community's problems.

Impact Councils are split into three groups, each addressing critical needs of the greater Stark County community. Within those groups there are several outcome areas.

Children and Youth: growing into successful adults

Through United Way’s work, children and youth will be given the best possible start to develop to their fullest potential. Children will be better prepared and ready to learn when entering school. Youth will be provided with the necessary academic, job and social skills necessary to succeed as adults. United Way programs help keep teens and youth on the right track and help teach the skills needed to avoid risky behavior. This area includes work in Early Care & Education, Graduation & Training Beyond High School and Reducing Risky Behavior Among Youth.
